["But yes, moral relativism and all that. Case in point --- I do not consider you to be truly alive. Ergo, I will not be guilty of murder if I kill you."

Hmmmm. Let's not use that argument I used in canon here, shall we?]

I do not consider it murder. But if one were to, you can see how it would cause hurt feelings.

[Ah. There it is.]

Oh, you remembered that. I'm impressed.

It is.

Rhetorically, as a means of theoretical debate, I can understand the argument. That does not change my stance on the matter.

How clever!

And your example is close.

Of the three, one would have been the original, the source, from which the others were sheared. It would not be a manner of whom 'won'. But you are correct. The source would consume the others.

[He just sighs.]

Yet you discount everything else. If Song was the source, would he not have a right to her lost memories, her lifespan, her abilities. What she was before? Once shattered, the original 'Song' is gone until all that was is restored.

You speak as if my brethren asked to be sundered.

Do not think I have not pondered the alternatives, carefully and considerately. I do not enjoy this path of bloodshed. But I will not abandon them. Their hopes. Their dreams. Their prayers.

For who would toil for them should I divert from this path?

["Who wants to live knowing that someone had to die for them to do so?" Hmmm.]

Wildfire.

Wildfire, calm down.

[He reaches out to put a hand on his shoulder.]

Two options lay before you. Take the time to reflect. To ponder. I doubt the answers you seek will become apparent in the next few moments. It is a great deal to take in.

Should you find in the end that ignorance is truly bliss, then come to me. There is an ability on BARiTONES that would make you forget.

Then take the time to reflect. Allow me to change this to a more comfortable environment.

[He pulls back and raises his hand and snaps his fingers. The surroundings are Wildfire's school, his home, his world as much as he can remember from the details of watching those memories.]

And I will take my leave.

[Well, shit. He can't just portal yeet out of the area now.

He exchanges his Ascian robes for his BARiTONES garb with a mere thought (thank you dream powers) and kneels down next to him. He wraps his arms around him trying to provide some amount of comfort.]

[He continues to hold him and pet his hair a few times. At least through the worst of it.]

Would a smaller venue be more suitable?
